Links to ...Robotics-related Standards SitesEURON's benchmark website contains a detailed survey and inventory of current efforts in comparative research. A collection of benchmarks will be added as these are developed. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is the worldwide federation of national standards organisations. Standards concerning robots are prepared by ISO Technical Committee 184 Subcommittee 2, with the title Robots for industrial environments. Before becoming an International Standard, a Draft International Standard (DIS) prepared by an ISO Technical Committee must be approved by at least 75% of national standards organisations that vote on the matter. IFRmembers use the definition of the term 'robot' contained in International Standard ISO 8373 when compiling statistics of manipulating industrial robots installed in particular countries. Such a robot is defined to be an 'automatically controlled, reprogrammable multipurpose manipulator programmable in three or more axes'. Standardised definitions for other kinds of robots are currently under development within IFR. RoSta (RObot STandards and reference Architecture) is the main international contact point for robot standards and reference architectures in mobile manipulation and service robotics. The site includes notes on benchmark definition; an attempt to specify a reference architecture; and a comprehensive survey of various robot software packages with more and more contributions and corrections from third parties. Further information about robot standards includes:
RoboML The Robotic Markup Language is an XML-based language for data representation and interchange in robotic applications. SensorML XML-based Sensor Model Language for describing the geometric, dynamic, and radiometric properties of dynamic in-situ and remote sensors. |
