Information for New Members

Welcome to EURON

the European Robotics Research Network

We hope that you find EURON interesting and useful. We encourage you to find out about our activities by exploring this web site, in particular the activities index page.

If you do not already subscribe to the euron-dist mailing list, you are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. This will keep you in touch with many calls and activities. You can register by following the link:
https://lists.iais.fraunhofer.de/sympa/info/euron-dist
Please motivate your PhD students to subscribe to the euron-dist mailing list too, but to use the list only for EURON-related information dissemination and discussion. However, EURON can make a dedicated mailinglist available, in case you want to start a Special Interest Group around a particular topic; requests can be addressed to the EURON Board.

Our most web popular pages are the home page (of course) and the robot gallery. If your group does not have a robot in the gallery, why not send the details to our webmaster, . Your robot will also appear on the page for your country. EURON currently has around 200 members in 28 countries. If you'd like to know more about EURON members in a particular country, please click on that country on the active map representation. Your country's national representative can also be found there. Longer lists of members can also be found through the membership lists.

Our News and Jobs section is also popular, especially with PhD students. When they are ready, encourage them to put their thesis into the Theseuron PhD repository. You can also submit them for a prize. Other Education & Training activities are also highly successful. Do participate in them, and contribute whenever possible.

Our Annual Meetings are the meeting place for European roboticists. The 2009 annual meeting will be held in Leuven in Spring 2009.

We hope that you will choose to get involved in some of our activities. In particular, we hope that you will contribute to the mailing list content and help to keep our website up-to-date by informing the editor of anything that might be interesting to members.

You don't have any financial obligations until you do something concrete. Membership is currently free of charge.

Your contributions, suggestions for improvements, and other interesting information are always most welcome.

Kind regards and welcome to EURON.
