Please Contribute ...Your knowledge, your experienceOne of the most important parts of EURON's activities is to ensure that knowledge and experience are spread as widely as possible. And that they do not get lost when an experienced researcher moves job! Even if you are new to robotics research you may know of helpful books, videos, web materials etc which can be recommended through this website. And you may have attended courses which should be in the databases -- recommend this to the teachers! If you have just obtained your robotics PhD, please place it in the Theseuron PhD database, and get your colleagues to do the same. And persuade your teachers to place their materials in the databases too! Of course, if you are a robotics teacher, you are probably already using the teaching materials database as a resource - just remember to include your own work. Industrial researchers will probably be more interested in EURON's benchmarking initiative. "Gold standards" and comparative studies are invaluable for assessing the value of new methods. EURON is working with SMEs and systems integrators to establish standards for systems and components - make sure that what you do and want is represented! The research roadmap is of interest to all researchers and will influence the way that funding for European robotics is distributed. Therefore it is important to get as wide a view as possible, so that it is not just the vocal few who get their favourite area funded! |
