Educational Video Series

Please send contributions soon!

EURON is aiming to produce a set of Educational-Promotional videos on Robotics. We are especially interested in videos that are attractive to young people about to decide on their degree course. We are thinking of videos equivalent to biology/zoology documentaries on TV.

Proposed chapters are [more details]:

  1. From the industrial revolution to current robotized factories
  2. Robotics close to humans, service robotics
  3. Problems of disabled people and robotic solutions
  4. Robots, the best collaborators for the surgeon
  5. From the tractor to the agricultural robot
  6. The sea bottom within human reach through robotics
  7. The what and why of humanoid robots
  8. Edutainment

This set of videos should be didactic, motivating and include basic technical aspects such as: architectures, control, sensor capabilities, computational techniques, intelligent behaviour.

Please see how you can contribute material to this video collection -- maybe by providing short high quality videos, or demos of your work or work that you like. Copyright issues will be sorted out before publication, with appropriate credits.

If you have demos of something that is more than a lab prototype, maybe already applicable to current technology or real applications in real environments, please contact Manel Frigola for the ftp address where you can submit them. If you have scenarios or running applications which are recordable you can send a brief explanation to Manel, preferably with photos, in order that we can evaluate how it fits in the video and plan its recording in situ.

Thank you in advance for your contributions!
Ideally, we would like them by 19th Nov.

Getting Involved

We hope that you will get involved in many of EURON's activities and encourage others to do so as well.

Attend Meetings

Attending meetings is an excellent way of making contacts and friends within the community. These contacts are normally interesting, and may also be useful!

EURON Schools are aimed at PhD students so are particularly good for people wishing to deepen an already existing interest. [More details ... ]

Contribute to the Initiatives

Your knowledge and resources are valuable -- please consider sharing them with others by adding items to the databases, contributing your opinions to the roadmap and benchmarking initiatives, and your information to this website.

Especially, please contribute to the Video Collection for Students asap.

Use the Resources

Make use of the resources that EURON offers. Much of the information is freely available to all, but for other resources you have to be a EURON member. Apply for the grants, use the databases and the contacts, apply for the awards, use the mailing lists.
