ROSE

a Robotics Ontology for the Semantic Web

Proposer: Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Institute for Production Technology, University of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitet (SDU)), Denmark; Accepted: Feb 2005

Abstract

The goal of the proposed Research Atelier is the construction of an Ontology for Robotics, that is, a machine-usable formal definition of the concepts, terms and relationships relevant to our field. The result will be an extensible knowledge base derived from a small group of robotics experts, represented using standard open-source semantic web technology, and implemented as a web-accessible service.

The goal will be achieved via consultation with semantic web experts, two meetings of an invited group of robotics domain experts, and some implementation effort. The budget for the activity is c. 35k Euro.
